Professor Barnes has assigned your partner for today's exercise. Your assignment, as an introduction to Pokemon Battles as a whole, is to knock the opponents' Pokemon unconscious by any means necessary.
[break][break] Your battle takes place on a grassy field roughly the size of a regulation tennis court. Throughout the battlefield are shallow holes filled with rainwater from a recent storm, creating muddy ground overall. The boundaries are clearly marked on the ground in chalk. If a Pokemon is knocked out of the battlefield, and does not return within 5 seconds, they are disqualified. The wind is next to nonexistent. The sky is clear.

Standing in the middle of the field, the Kalosian woman’s confidence and calm demeanor were obvious even at a glance. As they had just come from class, she was still dressed in her uniform, not a single crease in the fabric out of place as she stood with her Mawile at her side. Mordre stood tall as she could, beaming with confidence to match her partner with a clear eagerness to fight.

The two would wait in the middle for their opponents for the battle, Alex always one for good sportsmanship. Once they had been joined she would give the Jaime a firm handshake and a polite greeting, “Let us do our best, shall we?” With what she saw as the formalities of a friendly battle out of the way, she would head to one end of the field, Mordre practically giddy with excitement as she followed suit. The two would then take their positions and wait for their opponents to get situated at the opposite end.

Jaime stood across from the young Kalosian her confidence yet serenity was palpable to the hairy man. Jaime despite his eccentricities such as carrying an umbrella despite the sunny weather and wearing bright yellow crocs with his wrinkled uniforms, he looked very confident and proud of himself, his Polywag, Frank, also looked proud of himself as he was getting himself pumped for battle. The two were prepared for this battle with a unique sense of valor that one would expect from a man such as Jaime.

It would appear Jaime's rival for the lesson was a good sport as the young woman-Alex Tuomio-gives Jaime a firm handshake and a polite greeting, the large man give the young woman a bright and beaming smile "Yeah, we shall!" With that the two went to their side of the field, Frank was bouncing with energy and vigor for this fight, Which was rare since Frank was often a lazy slowpoke of a pokemon, so this was a nice change of pace. Frank took his position on the field and Jaime stood in the trainer spot. Jaime opened his umbrella to cover the sun beating down on his back with it. He was ready, and so was Frank.

It seemed their opponents were eager for this battle as well, good. Mordre will be sure to enjoy zis, Alex thought to herself, her calmly serious expression never faltering. A confident smile pulled at the corners of her mouth as they were given the clear to start. “What do you say, ma chérie? Shall we introduce zem to ze floating hammer?” It was a move combo the two had used to great effectiveness in previous battles over the years, and almost perfectly epitomized the Mawile’s aggressive battle style.

“Maaaw!” Mordre clearly agreed with the strategy, and immediately used the first move of the combo. Levitating roughly a foot in the air, to get away from one of her weaknesses, Magnet Rise was their obvious first choice for a move during battle.

No sooner had her body stopped rising, the massive jaws on her head became far shinier and metallic in appearance. What could not be immediately seen was this made them far harder as well. With her weapon prepped, Mordre launched herself forward at the Poliwag, feet never touching the ground as she made her attempt to slam her steely jaws into the water type’s head with her Iron Head move.

His blood was pumping to the extreme! They can do this! With their powers combined, they can win! "Let's do this, Frank!" Jaime said with an energetic pump of his umbrella hand. Jaime has an ecstatic expression and twitches to his body that shows he can barely contain himself with excitement. Despite his vigor and enthusiasm, he heard what the woman said even though her accent. "Ze Hammer? Que?" Jaime asked with a quizzical look on his face. "Should we introduce them to our storm?" It was time to show this old Lilipup still had tricks up his sleeves.

"Poli-Poli-poli-Wag!" Frank agreed as he did a quick dance in the spot which summoned a leaving rain cloud to their location and it started to rain-hard-drenching the entire area. Good thing Jaime carried his umbrella around all the time. The rain bounced off of his umbrella with the loud pitter-patter of rain. Jaime even started to spin the umbrella in the palm of his hand in a playful manner.

Due to his Rain Dance, Frank didn't have enough time dodge the upcoming Ze hammer. Which just seemed to be a glorified Iron head, a little disappointing. Frank was hit directly by the Iron head but thankfully due to the type advantage wasn't as effective as she thought, but the magnet rise did make it more damning as Frank was launched into the air like a basketball by the iron head. But Jamie didn't seem deterred by this. Instead, The Poliwag started blowing out large bubbles at the Mawile and all over the battlefield while in mid-air, and due to the rain, the bubbles grew in size and density as they were being shot at the Mawile. But there was also the fact that the bubbles were still around even after hitting the ground. Which Frank to his advantage to land safely on a bubble due to his lightweight and water typing the bubble was intact as he landed on it. Hopefully, their rivals don't plan on popping their little bubbles any time soon.

The rain quickly started to soak through Alex’s clothes, though her undershirt ensured her modesty intact despite her light colored attire. An umbrella was certainly a smart choice for a trainer with a water type partner, though Alex’s smile never faltered. She held no fear of battling no matter the weather at hand.

With the close contact Mordre’s previous move necessitated, it was little surprise she ended up struck by some of the strengthened bubbles. It did not seem to be much damage from the view on the sidelines, and Mordre herself was only further amped up by the attack. Alex had expected such a reaction, though the continued presence of the bubbles concerned her somewhat. They could prove to be an extra terrain hazard if left be.

As soon as the Poliwag had landed on a bubble, the Interpol hopeful gave another command to her fairy partner. “Seems ze tadpole wishes to rough’ouse, Mordre. Do not worry about breaking anyzing.” A smirk played across her face as she spoke. They had been through enough battles she was sure the Mawile would understand the implication of her phrasing.

Which, she did, mostly because she wanted to knock the Poliwag on its butt by popping that bubble beneath its feet. Still hovering above the ground, Mordre didn’t bother dodging any of the bubbles as she dashed toward her opponent. Her steel type body broke through the comparatively flimsy bubbles with ease as the distance closed between the two.

Her Play Rough move was an interesting one to say the least. Once she was close enough, she began trying to roughhouse with the water type Pokemon, seeming to forget they were battling in favor of just some playtime. Blowing a raspberry at the Poliwag, trying to shove him around, and just in general being a little harmless menace. In her efforts, she managed to kick the bubble the Poliwag was stood on. It was just as she decided it was time to finish the move as well, attempting to latch her jaws down on the tadpole in a rather vicious bite. With a rather wicked little grin, she would then try to snap her jaws down on him even harder, trying to do some significant damage with a Crunch attack.
