WHO'S THAT POKEMON?
WHO'S THAT POKEMON?

originally a hunting pokemon used to assist poachers, garm would eventually end up in an adoption facility after his original trainer gets arrested by law enforcement. his previous life has taught him to be stoic, tough, and obedient.
[break][break]
he happens to be the unlucky pokemon that jared takes a liking to. brought home a year before his supposed admission to the elite academy, jared got him with the purpose of grooming him to be the best self-defense weapon. being able to bring only one pokemon as opposed to a team that covered each other's weaknesses was troublesome after all.
[break][break]
strong wasn't enough though, it needed to be aesthetically pleasing as well. garm fulfilled both conditions. he was eye-catching, different from the rest, and blindly loyal to jared for some reason. he kept him around even though there would be more capable pokemon he could acquire at that time. strength wasn't much of a disparity when one could groom a pokemon to their fullest potential.
[break][break]
that meant, of course, being a victim of his mischief most of the time. despite everything, he loves the care and attention that the boy gives him. it does not take long for him to warm up to his new trainer.
