Taylor grew up in a rough part of town and had a very terrible childhood. Abandoned during his boyhood, he was placed into a local orphanage. For years Taylor struggled with other orphans to get a better life that they so desperately wanted. Going into the system at the age of 10, he found it almost impossible to get adopted; since most families weren't keen on dealing with a child on the verge of puberty and all the issues that it brought, it was near impossible. As he grew older things didn't get much better. Taylor was just an orphaned kid searching for love, craving it even. After opening his heart to many potential families, Taylor came to the realisation that he probably wouldn't get to leave with a family; he had a higher chance of leaving as an adult. [break][break] Sometime in his life, there was a moment in which he was able to feel apart of something, it was the moment when the community gathered at the local Pokemon Centre to watch the annual Hoenn League; a place where elite trainers gathered for the fiercest competition. Everything felt great, people smiled, people laughed, but alas it was only momentary bliss as Taylor would fade back into the background, watching as all his orphaned brothers and sisters got adopted before him. [break][break] For years this occurred with no one paying any mind to him, but he still watched the Hoenn League annually with the dream of one day being able to compete on this level. One day, he would be able to reach this dream; though, unknown to him, his life was about change. On that fated, the 2nd day of February, and Taylor's 15th birthday, the young man decided he needed to leave and find a job. Considering his age, the number of families wishing to adopt Taylor became next to nonexistent. And while the orphanage had an obligation to help him find a family, most of their resources were focused on the younger children. As Fallarbar was a small town Taylor came to the decision that Slateport City would be his best chance at finding a job, as it contained the region’s largest market. Due to him still having a curfew administered by the orphanage, Taylor took the shortest route to his destination: Hoenn’s desert, Route 111. [break][break] What a mistake Taylor made as the wind brewed and the sand with it. Before long a fully-fledged sandstorm was brewing, and Taylor had no protection. With no way to get help, before he knew it, Taylor was crawling through the desert to reduce the amount of sand hitting his face. But being the fool that he was, the young teen had no water; eventually, even after the sandstorm had subsided, he had succumbed to his exhaustion and dehydration. Luckily if fate weren't on his side, had it not been for a mysterious middle-aged passerby, he'd be dead. This man, soaring above on what seemed to be a foreign pokemon to the Hoenn Region, landed upon the sandy surface. Quickly, rushing over to Taylor's body, the stranger checked to see whether he was still alive or dead. It was by the grace of god that the blonde teen was alive, albeit, barely. [break][break] Taken to the nearest Pokemon Centre, where the young man would recuperate and regain his strength. He had known nothing of his rescuer till he awoke to the low beeping of someone making a phone call through one of the centre's phones down the hall. Confused, Taylor spoke to the centre's nurse, only to reveal that he'd been saved by a man named Ares Caelen. She also revealed that the man would be at the Slateport shipyard, recommending Taylor should make a visit to the man and thank him personally for his kindness. Thanking his nurse for her hospitality, Taylor set off towards Slateport City. Considering that he was currently in Mauville City, the journey would not be as treacherous as his previous 'adventure'." [break][break] "Arriving within Slateport City, the first thing Taylor did was head towards the shipyard as recommended. Searching as best as he could, Taylor found none by the name of "Ares Caelan". Although, evidently, people only knew of a corporation called "Caelen's Fishery". Just when Taylor was going to give it a rest and call it a day, a voice bellowed throughout the shipyard, "Boy!" The word echoed throughout Taylor's body as he turned to see a tanned middle-aged man with sandy hair coming toward him. "I see that nurse gave you my message," a pearly smile beamed his way as the somewhat well-built man now stood before him. "Come, follow me, let’s talk." Ares beckoned, which soon lead them to the largest boat in the yard. With a unique discovery, low and behold, Caelen's Fishery. [break][break] “Thank you so much for what you did for me." Sitting down face to face with his savoir, Taylor couldn't muster enough words for his gratitude towards the man. "Tell me something, what were you doing out there?" It was at this moment that Taylor laid everything out on the table. From him having no parents to the lonely childhood and, even now, dejected hopes and dreams in being able to make it to the Hoenn League as a competitor. Before long, Taylor's story became more of a rant. The emotions he kept buried for so long came pouring out all at once, "I-I’m sorry for wasting your time. I’m going to leave now. Once again, thank you for saving my life." It was at this moment in time that something unexpected had occurred. [break][break] "If you have nowhere to stay, how about you stay with me?" Ares stated, a blank expression. Not that Taylor would know this, but at one time in his life Ares also had nothing.” I'll take care of the orphanage situation.” The offer was more of a pity than anything, a gesture of good will despite Taylor not having done anything to deserve it. [break][break] As the years past, Ares turned more into a father figure for the blonde teen. With the ship currently based within the Sinnoh Region Taylor had been accompanying Ares around the world, catching many different fish. He even saw the company expand, monopolising the fishing industry within Hoenn, breaking through into Sinnoh. With this Ares had begun to invest some of the money he earned into organisations around Sinnoh. One of the many places he invested was Sinnoh’s Elite Academy. Though Ares may not look like he was a serious businessman, he saw heaps of potential on this investment. Everything seemed to be on the up, the once dejected blonde teen often had a smile plastered on his face. The 2nd of February had been marked as an important day, it was, after all, when Ares and Taylor had met; and it, also, marked the day of the Sinnoh League finals. However, before that, Ares and Taylor went to visit the town of Solaceon. A town in Sinnoh where Ares had a personal business to take care of. [break][break] February 2nd came, and the Sinnoh League final was underway. Being there in person was unreal for the blonde teen, the skilful way the trainers commanded their pokemon with the utmost ease was something one could tell took months, if not years, of training and trust built. Unfortunately, unbeknown to Taylor, the Sinnoh league final was going to be another pivotal moment of his life. With the league finished and the victor announced, Taylor was beaming with life, the excitement almost bubbling out of the young man. Walking beside Ares, Taylor listened as the man began talking. [break][break] "Seeing you today made me realise something, and I need to clarify, would you like the chance to be up on that stage?" That was a stupid question, for Ares already knew the answer to it, but he needed to be sure. With Taylor nodding firmly Ares took a deep breath in which he exhaled heavily, turning it into a sigh. "Alright, we have one trip today: we're going to S.E.A.” Taylor’s eyes widened as he realised what Ares had said. “H-How?” Ares knew it would be hard to explain, but he gave him the short story. “As a donor of the school, my children are eligible to enrol. Look, don't worry about that right now!” After days of phone calls and a few phone interviews, Ares came back to Taylor with the thumbs up. Everything was cleared, Taylor would be able to enrol at Sinnoh Elite Academy through a hereditary scholarship. [break][break] Still confused as to how this was all happening, Taylor had to prepare his things as he was moving into the dormitories the school provided. This was going to last for a long time, meaning that it would also be awhile before Taylor could see Ares again. So, before he went, Ares had one more thing to present to Taylor: a pokemon egg! The private business Ares had to take care of was the purchasing of a pokemon egg from Solaceon's Day Care, this was his gift to Taylor. Words failed to describe what Taylor was feeling in that moment, the tears trickling down his cheeks said it all. "It’s okay kid, I’ve been in your position before. We’ve both been dealt a bad hand at life, so I felt obligated to give you a better hand than what life gave me. Live your dreams Taylor, you should be able to do that now.” [break][break] It was a beautiful moment between an adoptive parent and his child. Now, it was up to Taylor to see his dreams through as the path had been paved by the man who had saved him all those years ago.

WHO'S THAT POKEMON?
[attr="class","afform"]
Rhea is the pokemon that hatched from the egg that Ares Caelen had given him as a fair well good bye present. Unknown to both Taylor and Ares, Rhea was carrying a genetic anomaly in which she was unable to produce fire internally and instead could only use water based moves and ice type moves. Her green skin was just a by product of her inability to produce fire, allowing her green veins to be more predominant giving it the hue it currently has. [break][break] Despite her outward appearance Rhea, just like a typical dragon she is a very territorial pokemon in which she regards Taylor her territory and will fight anyone she believes is threatening him. Beside her normal dragonic nature, she is a very competitive pokemon in which she hates to lose, and will always try to prove herself to be the best dragon type in the area. Being that Taylor is the only human she knows and has been raised by him, she has adopted many of his personality traits, such as his stubborness, cheekiness and ambitiousness.
